The program opens with distinguished remarks from Eric M. Gottschalk, president of the German Club Manila, and His Excellency Dr. Andreas Pfaffernoschke, German ambassador to the Philippines, followed by honorable greetings by Dominik Krause, mayor of Munich, Dr. Jörg Lehmann, CEO of Hofbräuhaus, and Dr. Christian Scharpf, head of the Munich Chamber of Commerce. A ceremonial toast formally marks the start of Oktoberfest season, followed by a playful and participatory Fliegerlied dance that channels the unmistakable energy of Munich’s Wiesn.
