Where Fishing Meets Retail: Fisher Mall Malabon’s History
Known for its rich fishing heritage, Malabon thrives as a hub for aquaculture. Amid this thriving industry, the Del Rosario family’s livelihood has long been rooted in Malabon’s waters. This heritage inspired them to establish Fisher Mall, honoring their roots while embracing modern business.
Fisher Mall Malabon, the family’s younger mall, has grown from a simple shopping center into a vibrant community hub — a heartfelt reflection of their strong connection with the community.

From Seafood to Shopping
Roberto “Bobby” Del Rosario, a longtime Malabon resident, founded Irma Fishing and Trading Inc., now a major force in the Philippine fish trade. This success led to Fisher Mall’s first branch on Quezon Avenue in 2013, where Irma Fishing continues to supply fresh seafood to Fisher Supermarket, preserving the family’s fishing heritage.
Building on its success, the Del Rosario family brought Fisher Mall to Malabon—not just for expansion, but also as a homecoming. Strategically positioned at the crossroads of Malabon, Navotas, and Caloocan, the mall has transformed into a vibrant community hub, offering quality retail, dining, and entertainment. It has grown into a vital commercial center, fostering innovation and driving economic growth of the city.

A Catch for Community
Fisher Mall Malabon has boosted the local economy by creating jobs, attracting businesses, and welcoming visitors. Since its opening, it has generated 7,033 jobs. In 2024, it achieved 91% of its total operational capacity, with eight more stores to be welcomed for 2025 which is projected to increase the mall’s occupancy rate to 96%, both in terms of total units and Gross Leasable Area (GLA). Foot traffic also increased by 6% in February 2025, cementing its role as a vital community hub.
The mall also supports small and local businesses through leasing opportunities, pop-up markets, and events that showcase local brands. By fostering growth alongside major retailers, it strengthens Malabon’s business landscape and promotes economic inclusivity.
Beyond retail, Fisher Mall Malabon offers unique recreational spaces, including the city’s first Roller Disco Skating Rink, which blends skating and disco for both beginners and experienced skaters. Playland, its indoor amusement center, features arcade games, rides, and interactive attractions, providing a fun and safe environment for kids to explore.

Anchored in Progress
Staying true to its roots, Fisher Mall Malabon serves as a vibrant community hub and a dedicated partner in enhancing the lives of residents. The mall works hand in hand with the local government to support initiatives like “Malabon Ahon,” a program by the Local Government Unit for the request and distribution of social and financial assistance for its residents. The mall serves as a welcoming space for this initiative and for livelihood fairs, skills training, and outreach activities, empowering residents and small businesses to thrive.
With every collaboration, Fisher Mall Malabon strengthens its role as a bridge between commerce, governance, and public service. By making essential opportunities and resources accessible, it creates a spirit of shared progress and reinforces its dedication to the people of Malabon.
Rooted in its fishing heritage, Malabon has a strong sense of community. Fisher Mall Malabon embodies this spirit, serving as more than just a shopping destination—it’s a place that celebrates connection while elevating the city as a vibrant lifestyle and commercial hub.
Looking ahead to 2025, Fisher Mall remains dedicated to serving Malabon and honoring its legacy. Through its programs and objectives, it aims to engage the community, support small businesses and government-led initiatives, and enrich visitor experiences. By continuously evolving, the mall strengthens its role as a dynamic center for commerce, leisure, and culture.
