Seiko’s 6th Philippine Limited Edition Introduces Three Watches Capturing The Filipino Spirit

A first in their country exclusive series, Seiko takes the adventurous route in their latest release

Seiko infuses legacy precision watchmaking with cultural heritage through the 6th Philippine Limited Edition timepiece. A step beyond the usual, this edition brings you three different watches inspired by the three major islands of The Philippines: Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Each watch face tells a story through design that unmistakably illustrates a feature from each major Philippine island. Luzon’s watch face takes from the warm cobblestones of Calle Crisologo, Vigan. On the other hand, the Visayas watch captures the lushness and greenery of Chocolate Hills in Bohol. Seiko looks to the iconic coastline of Zamboanga, dotted with vibrant vintas, for the watch dedicated to Mindanao.

Every year since 2020, Seiko presents a Philippine limited edition watch. Every edition brings a new theme that perfectly describes the dynamic relationship between Seiko and its Philippine clientele—a meeting point between the lifestyle of the watch enthusiast or collector and the mastery of Seiko over watchmaking.

This year’s edition is a first for Seiko and its Philippine limited edition launch as it features three different designs, instead of just one. Another departure from the other launches is how it remixes the Seiko 5 Sports watch, as prior editions featured the Seiko Prospex.

The choice of the Seiko 5 Sports Collection is in line with this year’s theme being all about movement and lifestyle. Every watch goes beyond appreciating these travel-worthy destinations as it also celebrates the various activities that can be associated with each place. “These watches are designed for those who express their lifestyle through their wrist. Bold, stylish, and proudly rooted in culture,” shares Karl Dy, President of Timeplus Corporation.

Seiko invites you to imagine an engaging life, may it be through strolling the cobbled street of Calle Crisologo, biking through the winding paths of the Philippines, or sailing along our world-famous shore. This collection embodies the joy, freedom, and spirit of possibility that permeates through the Filipino identity.

The Seiko 5 Sports collection defines itself among the varied Seiko watches as it is specific for  the go-getters and those who play sports. Launched in 1968, following the release of Seiko Sportmatic 5 in 1963, Seiko 5 Sports is defined by enhanced water resistance, a strengthened crystal and luminous hands and hour markers. Over time, Seiko 5 Sports represents a youthful generation of watch lovers who value both time-honed techniques and self-expression.

Choosing the Seiko 5 Sports Collection for this edition also recognizes the deep-rooted legacy of these watch models in the country. The collection is a popular choice for the Filipino as it resonates with both long-time watch collectors and the newer market. It appeals across a diverse audience given its dependable performance, accessible pricing, and timeless design.

Since 1881, Seiko prides itself in its philosophy of being ‘Always one step ahead of the rest.’ Every Seiko watch is made for a personality that loves reliability and excellence. “That means honoring tradition while embracing innovation. With this collection, we’re doing just that. Celebrating the richness of Philippine culture through a modern lens, and inviting wearers to show their style, their story, and their rhythm,” says Dy.

There will only be 1,000 units per design available in the 6th Philippine Limited Edition. Each watch retails for P30,000. The collection will be available online and in Seiko boutiques and authorized dealers starting October 29.
