Former hotelier Michelle “Mitch” Garcia-Arce has recently unveiled a new full-service marketing agency venture called Storytellers Marketing Communications Incorporated, an organization that aims to help brands grow and stand out amid a rapidly competitive business environment.

Having spent nearly two decades of practice in marketing and communications management specifically for hospitality and foodservice brands, Mitch has witnessed the challenges of companies and brands in finding their own voice, crafting effective communication campaigns, and bringing these messages to the right audience that would positively impact their businesses.

“Behind every great brand is a great story. Stories have the power to influence and shape perceptions of customers on brands. The best stories help brands become relevant and endure the test of time,” says Mitch.

Storytellers’ services for brands include integrated marketing communications, PR and media management, digital marketing, multimedia production, design, events management, and social media management.

Storytellers Inc. is also introducing a unique program for influencers and content creators. “Social media influencers are some of the best digital content creators out there. At Storytellers, we help influencers focus on what they do best and enjoy — creation — by representing and connecting them with brands and organizations who value their work. We are also excited to introduce an influencer network that would serve as a bridge between brands and creators, helping generate more opportunities for both,” describes Mitch.

From multi-awarded hotelier to CEO

Mitch was the long-time Cluster Director of Marketing Communications of the Marriott International group in the Philippines, overseeing marcomm strategy across 5 properties and three distinct brands – Marriott, Sheraton, and Courtyard. Under her leadership, Marriott International introduced global hotel brands in fast-rising cities such as Iloilo and Clark, successfully penetrating these markets through effective communication programs.

Mitch pre-opened Marriott Manila in 2009 within the country’s first integrated resorts brand, Resorts World Manila. Since then, Mitch has taken a leadership role as Director of Marketing Communications in shaping the succeeding milestones of the hotel. In 2015, she rolled out a comprehensive marketing communications campaign to introduce Marriott Grand Ballroom, the country’s largest and most technologically advanced hotel events facility. She conceptualized the widely remembered “Marry Me At Marriott” campaign, the annual signature fashion program of Marriott Manila that brings together many of the Philippines’ most respected designers and society icons to redefine the wedding industry.

She sat as the Communications Director for Marriott Worldwide Business Council, the global company’s CSR committee. In Marriott Manila, she was named Leader of the Year, while she is also a

recipient of the group-wide JW Marriott Award of Excellence. In the industry, she was nominated twice at the Mabuhay Awards, the Nobel Prize equivalent in the Philippines’ hotel industry.

An entrepreneur by heart, Mitch is also the President of Salmo Trading and Distribution Corporation, the company behind the distribution of Ultrafresh ultra-thin baby diapers. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication from the San Sebastian College, Manila. She has a daughter and a son and is married to Ariel Arce, who runs the family business Arce Dairy Ice Cream
