As a matter of fact, SneakPeek had just dropped the bomb with another successful installment of SneakPeek Unlocks last October 27 at the SneakPeek store in Shangri-La Plaza Mall. The event gathered media guests, collectors and brand ambassadors like Cris Lomotan, Marc Marasigan and MC Ronthug, for an exclusive look at the toy and a brand talk. It was hosted by Mike Acuna and music was provided by DJ Arbie Won.
Far from your typical Unlocks series, unveiled during the event was MediCom Toy’s limited edition BE@RBRICK developed in collaboration with Atmos and Staple Design. As the first toy to be launched under the SneakPeek Unlocks campaign, the launch definitely marks an exciting time for the store.
Designed and produced by MediCom Toy, a Japan-based company founded in 1996 which has pioneered the creation of plastic figurines of pop culture, the BE@RBRICK was first released in May 2001. A cross between a Lego and a bear, these figurines have since become some of the most expensive collectible toys in the market.
More than just toys, BE@RBRICKS have come to embody the intersection of art, fashion, and design. It’s no wonder that it now bears a cult status among A-list trendsetters such as Pharrell, Shawn Stussy, and Vogue’s Grace Coddington.
This time around, BE@RBRICK is intent on giving street style and design fans a run for their money as it enlists two of the best design powerhouses in the industry to reimagine the toy.

Established by Staple Pigeon’s jeffstaple two decades ago in NYC, #StapleDesignStudio is a creative consulting firm that has worked with some of the world’s most prestigious brands including Nike, Microsoft, Sony, Lotus, Timberland and LVMH among many others. On the other hand, Atmos is a trailblazing sneaker store originally based in Tokyo. Back in the days when boutique shops collaborations were hardly a thing, Atmos is best regarded for paving the way for everyone else.
Together, the duo lends their distinct design sensibilities to come up with another memorable variation on the BE@RBRICK. Available in two sizes – 100% and 400% – the Staple x Atmos BE@RBRICK features no less than the idiosyncratic motifs of the two brands; Atmos’ signature black and white “Safari” graphic complements jeffstaple’s pigeon character in neutral grey. The result is a striking split-graphic pattern which adorns the iconic BE@RBRICK silhouette. Available exclusively at SneakPeek, only limited pieces will be sold.
