VALENTINE’S DAY ROMANCE AT CITY OF DREAMS MANILA

 

City of Dreams Manila rekindles the flame of love this February in celebration of Valentine’s Day with dining experiences and confectioneries as expressions of endearment.

From haute European cuisine and a Michelin-star dining experience at The Tasting Room, Japanese-Peruvian fare at Nobu Manila, premium Chinese and Cantonese delights at Crystal Dragon, to chocolate fondue and chocolates at Red Ginger and Café Society, respectively – lovers, romantics and even those unattached who opt to celebrate the occasion as a Single’s Awareness Day with friends can create a lasting memory at the luxury integrated resort in this season of love.

 

The Tasting Room

The Tasting Room at NÜWA (the rebranded Crown Towers) introduces Chef de Cuisine Frederic Thevenet’s fresh, contemporary take on haute French cuisine infused with Asian influences, with  a five-course Valentine’s Tasting Menu: starting with the appetizer of Smoked haddock with lentils, egg yolk, caviar, brandade (salt cod and olive oil emulsion) and lettuce; followed by the Lobster Tartare with clementine orange, lambanog (coconut liquor), sauce Américaine, and vegetables à la grecque; and Pineapple Papaya with banana ketchup, celery jelly, and pink pepper, for an intermezzo. Then comes the main course – Tenderloin Beef Pot Au Feu with crosnes (Chinese artichoke), leeks, and truffle vinaigrette; ending with the Chocolate Papillote with pear.

The Valentine’s Tasting Menu is at P5,000++ per person and to heighten the romance, there is wine pairing at P2,500++ per person. As an added Cupid’s treat, a live chocolate station will be available for diners and lady guests will be provided with a bouquet of red roses.

At Nobu Manila, diners can sweep their loved ones off their feet with the seven-course Valentine’s Day Omakase dinner menu on February 13 and 14. The indulgent dinner starts with the Yellowtail Sashimi Jalapeño and Kumamoto Oysters with Nobu Salsa, caviar, and Yuzu lemon, followed by the Ika sushi, Lapu-lapu sushi, and Negi Toro trio platter. Further delighting the senses are the Seared scallop Inaniwa pasta with truffle butter; the Uni Butter-crusted beef tenderloin with confit potato, caramelized onion, and sake soy; and the Aka Dashi soup and Asari clam, concluded by the Strawberry and Ivoire Chocolate Mousse with Hazelnut Dacquoise and Praline ice cream. The Valentine’s Omakase is at P4,299++ per person.

Crystal Dragon’s award-winning Cantonese cuisine is made even more special with the Valentine’s Day five-course dinner set menu available on February 13-15, consisting of: Shredded Roast Duck with Fresh Fruit Salad in Dressing, Braised Seafood Broth with Lobster and Scallop, Oven Baked Marinated Cod Fish Fillet with Cheese and Fragrant Garlic, Tea-Smoked Fried Rice with Scallion and Ohmi Wagyu Beef, and Double Boiled Bird’s Nest with Ginseng and Oven Baked Crispy Cheese Tart, all paired with aromatic Jasmine tea. The Valentine’s dinner set menu is at P4,980++ per person.

Red Ginger

From February 5 to 14, Red Ginger offers a chocolate fondue platter during lunch and dinner, for which a variety of flavors are offered: white chocolate, strawberry and black pepper; salted caramel and Don Papa Rum; or dark chocolate and mint. The fondue is at P388++ per serving, and comes with assorted tropical fruits, coconut-flavored marshmallows, cashew nut brownies, and pandan cake.

Café Society

No Valentine’s celebration is complete without sweet gifts as a gesture of love, and well-curated Valentine’s presents are offered at Café Society from February 9 to 15. Among the Valentine’s confections are: Chocolate Love Bear, Milk Chocolate Love Bar, White Chocolate Love Bar; Chocolate Pot of Lollies, Chocolate Strawberry Truffle, Chocolate Raspberry Truffle, Strawberry Bavaroise, and Latte Chocolate Cake. Prices start at P250 net. The Valentine-themed hampers are offered from P1,500 net and up, depending on the selection of the mentioned chocolate items, and each containing an adorable plush teddy bear.
