United Colors of Benetton, one of the top global retail brands in the world, continues to stay ahead of the curve after almost fifty years since it was first founded. In 1963, Luciano Benetton, a traveling salesman, saw a market for colorful knitwear. This was the early ‘60s, a time when people were starting to express themselves through fashion and color. Benetton looked around and saw a demand that wasn’t being met. He immediately filled the gap in the retail industry by first convincing his brother to sell his motorcycle so they could purchase a second-hand knitting machine.
Fifty years later, United Colors of Benetton continues to create comfortable, sensible, yet fashion-forward clothes that their clients all over the world adore and love. For their Summer 2014 men’s collection, soft blue remains the dominant color, representing the countless shades of the color of the sea. They have modernized the Hawaiian shirt, with stylish prints and toned down hues.  There are also a variety of slim fit t-shirts with a more modern interpretation of the nautical stripes. A vest and shorts complete the whole laid back look which is perfect for summer beach parties.
The women’s collection comprises of light summer cotton dresses available in an array of colors and textures. The vibrant hues give life to subdued prints, making the dresses very wearable during daytime. There are also light printed tops and flowy cotton skirts perfect for lounging by the pool. The patterns are reminiscent of vivacious Capri, the small Italian island off the Sorrentine Peninsula, known for its relaxed atmosphere, great food, and the blue waters that surround it.

Present in 120 countries, United Colors of Benetton continues to grow worldwide. It has 6,500 outlets around the world, including outlets in Bonifacio High Street, Robinson’s Place Ermita, SM Megamall Bldg. B, and Ayala Center Cebu.
